After going to Glastonbury and struggling with my 55-250mm due to the slow aperture I decided to take a punt on ebay with the above manual focus lens. It cost less than 2 beers, so I won't be too bothered if doesn't work. But does anyone have any experience of this lens?

Will it be OK to fit to my 450D with EOS to PK adapter?

Edit: Whoops I forgot to mention it is made by HOYA!

I checked the ebay and it definitely is advertised as an F3.3, so I will see what turns up!

Are you sure it hasn't just got a Hoya filter on the front and the seller is confused? There was a 200/3.3 labelled as Paragon / Chinon / Hanimex but it was pretty naff unfortunately.

Must say I'm pretty sure it's this - got a Hanimex sitting in front of me, and very few lenses have a f/3.3 max aperture.
 
Well I will find out tomorrow morning, it should be sitting on my desk at work :)
 
Hmm, I thought I'd taken a few test shots with it stopped down to f/8 but I don't think I've developed that roll yet. Let's see the test shots once you have your hands on it!
 
Well I have it and it's a Hoya 200/3.5 I'm looking forward to doing some test shots with it tonight. My only concern with my recent hobby of picking up cheap manual glass is that I might end up upgrading my body so I can get a larger view finder! :lol:
