Pentax K-5 Anyone?

I'm tempted by the weather sealing and HD video. From what I can see, the kit lenses are better than most and the 55mm f1.4 looks very nice.

Anyone use one? Or tried one?

Yes .. and the 55mm f1.4 is a cracking lens (also weather sealed).

i used a k5 and found it to be awsome,as mike said its all built to last, and has awsome weather sealing, and the kit lenses are great and also weather sealed, the only thing i dont like is its abit small, and the af button on the back is in a funny place.

I've the k7, so the ergonomics are the same, and absolutely love it. From all I've seen and heard, the k5 is even better and I'd definitely recommend it happily. If it's a bit small for your hands then a battery grip should make it more comfortable (though I'm a big bloke and have had no problems with the size of my k7.)

just make sure you check the sensor as there has been a few users who have had problems with this

also same sensor as the d7000 but if the reviews are to be believed the k5 seems a better overall package and value for money. I think they're still running the cash back deal. also if bought from jessops there is a 4% cashback

Looks like a great camera. D7000 performance, but better build it would appear. Is the K-5 down as a Pentax "Pro" camera?

ISO 2000 and f1.4...I'm impressed at how clean and sharp that looks even if it is web res. Do you have a larger example I could see at all?

The k5 is Pentax's current top of the line DSLR, so if that makes it "Pro", then yeah!

For anyone thinking of getting the camera, keep an eye out for the Pentax 100mm macro that PCWorld and Curry's keep selling off for £250 or so. It's an absolutely cracking lens - 1:1 macro, super sharp and small and light. It's one of the lenses that's always in my bag and not just for macro work.
