pentax kx experiences?

Yes
I've seen some very well priced twin lens packages on a variety of websites and combined with some decent reviews this is turning into a very tempting package. £130 cheaper than a b stock d5000 package and about £200 cheaper than my previous lead contender the a450 package.

Anyone got any experiences with pentax, what is lens availability like etc?

Cheers,

i love my pentax gear a good range of lenses are available, and the higher spec k7 is probably one of the best weather sealed cameras there are, also the built in sr is great, the kx is probaly one of the best crop sensor camera for high iso noise control also has an af motor built in so you dont have to use the dearer lenses.

I have a Km and also a Kx at work. PC World are doing the Kx twin lens kit (18-55 and 50-200) for £450 right now (all DSG retail group will have same deal), this is an utter bargain for the TIPA entry level DSLR award winner.
This camera is far superior to the Nikon and Canon entry level kit, I benchmarked and tried all three when buying the Kx for work.
Incidentally, the kit above is exactly what I bough for work 2.5 months ago for £650, £450 is an utter bargain.

Pentax make some great albeit pricy lenses especially the * range
If you want a replacement for the kit lens try and pick up the recently discontinued Pentax DA 16-45mm, great value at around the 200 quid mark

Not sure whether you think its an advantage or not, but the K-x and K-m uses AA's, Lithiums last for well over a 1000 shots and in an emergency ordinary alkalines give 200-300 shots

Used rechargeables in my K200D and never had a problem, good for around 500 or so shots

TBH I quite like the AA aspect, spend a lot of time in't hills so a spare pack which would fit the gps as well wouldn't be a problem.

Can anyone suggest a good value landscape and macro lens please? (obviously 2 lenses!)

I would opt for the Sigma 10-20 f4-5.6 (assuming you want wide angle for landscapes) and the Tamron 90mm Macro

As I mentioned earlier Pentax make some great lenses, but they ain't cheap.

Ah but with what I save on the body/twin lens deal can I afford not to treat myself to good landscape and macro lenses?!

Cheers for the info, think that's my mind finally made up...
