Pentax Optio 1000 - opinions please?

Asda have this at £49.99. 14mp and a 3 inch screen. Uncertain as to quality of lens though.

Admittedly, at £50 I'd not expect brilliance.

However, for my 6 and 8 year old daughters is this a good bet or is there something better you'd recommend?

I've not used one but to be honest with you at 50 quid I doubt you could go wrong, especially as it's for your kids. As for the lens, well I doubt your kids are talking about fast L series glass yet

I reckon it'll be fine for what it'll be used for.

the OH is after a point and shoot camera, ideally a green one (yeah thanks!), but with this you could have any colour you like! quite a few favourable reviews actually... at Argos for £59
