I think the Nikon D700/D3 with the dynamic range of the Fuji S5 Pro would be the perfect digital SLR.;)
 
one that was water tight... so i didnt have to buy stupid housing that cost stupid amounts...and stupid strobes for stupid money that i dont really have just so i can take some pictures undewater :bang:gah!!!!!! .... sorry for rant :coat:
 
But then I would not have anything to put all my perfect Canon lenses on ;)

Surely the perfect camera would be something the size of gnat, that you could attach onto your sunglasses, streamed the data wirelessly to your home server, could deliver 60 frames per second with a 50mp image quality and has DOF that is mind controlled.
You guys really don't like thinking out of the box.

noooo!!!! but then we would loose all the fun of massive lenses ;):p
 
Full Frame Leica M. Though that isn't a DSLR. That would be OP's sensor (FF, dynamic and tonal range of Fuji's superCCD) crammed into a Nikon F3 body. No AF motor/sensor, no screen, a weaker anti-aliasing filter and no auto shutter advance like an Epson RD-1. Batteries would last yonks.
