I'm texting someone who's currently on holiday in Cyprus. I'm with Vodafone on a contract, and I'm apparently not paying any extra to text them, surely its 11p like it is to text from Europe back into the UK? Or is it free/included in my text allowance, to text Europe? The website doesn't make any mention of outgoing texts from UK, just of sending back to the UK.

Thanks for any advice.

No, texting someone who is roaming abroad will not charge you extra, because regardless of where they are, you're texting a UK number. Only the roamer themselves gets hit with roaming charges.

I think it costs them to recieve your text, that was how it used to be.

No it's free to receive texts, just calls are charged.

That's good to know, she's getting charged the 11p a text it costs from overseas.

Quite pleasantly surprised that I can text overseas and not get charged, I didn't realize that was the case.
