Ok, so as the title implies, I'm looking at photo managment software as it would be quite useful. My main photo repository is on my media server, and all my editing is done on my Macbook Pro. I'd like something along the lines of Picasa (not for editing, just management). I've tried Picasa, but unless I was being a plank, I couldn't see anyway of pointing it at a particular directory, having it scan my local drive was no help at all as there aren't any photos on it. Can anyone point me in the direction of various software packages that might do this? OS X-compatible please!

Thanking you.

You should have iPhoto on your mac already. Otherwise Lightroom or aperture are photo management tools with the capability to edit etc.

In my opinion, any photographer who hasn't had a go with Lightroom or Aperture is missing out on some of the best software out there.
