I've been so wrapped up with image quality lately that I think my photography suffered. I went to a small local charity gig last night with a few local singers and Chris Difford of 'Squeeze'. I took my camera because I haven't used it much recently. The light was really poor and I ended up shooting at the highest iso my 1dmk11n could go, being an oldish body I knew there would be quality issues as I don't normally go over 800 iso........BUT, looking back at my photos they are noisy but so what! Surely a noisy photo is better than no photo? Is this the start of my photography enjoyment returning, I hope so :)

I have all Squeeze albums :D

I often think that people worry too much about noise, so well done... and how about posting some shots!

I don't worry about noise at all! On an image that is A4 or smaller you will hardly see it! Even with larger images it's not an issue really for me!

THe important thing is to get the exposure correct. Most newer cameras do very well even beyond 800.

Convert to black & white, noise turns into grain, looks atmospheric.

As long as you're not shooting for clients who require certain images there aren't any rules as to how you process them or indeed leave them.

Taken for fun for myself so quality wasn't an issue and I just enjoyed the experiance. I never thought about turning them to B&W :) My editing skills are limited as is the iso capeabillity of the 1d11N.
