Photo sharing sites---????

Am I getting this right, if I want to upload my photos to this forum I need to get them on the net first. I cant see thats right , but that is what I understand from what I have read.

So to get them on the net I need to put them on Flickr or photobox or something of the like. What benefits are there to putting my pics on these sites and does this mean that if my pics were ever good enough, could all and sundry take any photo they wish from these sites and use it for there own use or financial gain.

If any of these sites could or would be beneficial, if only for sharing, then which is best.

Hi Mike,
There are some good tutorials on this, do a search on TP and you will find loads. In short you can't load directly from your computer, I use photobucket for example. You can set 'rules' on these sites so don't worry!

There's a gallery on TP you could use if you dont want them in the PD!

Ant pictures I want to show on TP are uploaded to my TP gallery and linked from there.

I used to use Flickr but now use Picassa for general file sharing with family and friends. You can make images on there private and invitation only so other people don't even know they're there. I believe the same facility is available in Flickr too.
