Hi there to everyone here, I have had a photo taken and used on a dutch web site:bang: I have emailed them in english to ask if they could credit me with the photo, nothing:thumbsdown: So where can I go now as I dont know any dutch I have tried Babel Fish Translation to help me with the dutch but still nothing back from them so How do i go about invoicing them for use of this. I have read through various threads but each one is different so I thought I ask here, any help will be great thank you.

Almost all Dutch people speak English very well - certainly anyone running a website will - they're just ignoring you as the liklihood of you being able to bring them to account will cost you more than you can ever hope to recover through the courts...
You'll have to suck it up, I'm afraid.

There is an address at the bottom of their page, make up an invoice in XL or Word (i'm sure you can find a template on the 'net) and bill them for National Union of Journalist rates.

Send it to them with 28 days to pay. You are in the right so keep at them.

Yeah...right...

Alternatively you could just go to the pub and have another beer or three for all the good it'll do...

While we all recognise the Photographer's right to payment, what are the realistic chances of him getting any money?

From a website registered in another country, which may just be a PO Box number for all we know?

Let's be honest about this chaps...it's all well and good getting outraged about this sort of thing and yes, there IS a principle at stake, but do any of us REALLY think he's going to get paid?

How did you find out that your picture had been used?

Not a penny, and probably because the opening gambit was asking for a credit.

I think the most likely outcome will be they stop using the image and don't bother paying. But it doesn't hurt to try :)

Sheddy I just googled the photo croyton refinery fire and have a look at the photos to see what I find
