Edit My Images
Yes
what do you use (apart from flickr) as an image host? ive been using photobucket and it has finally pee'd me off! its refusing to let me resize or edit images in any way whatsoever and it keeps causing my laptop to freeze up. so im looking for an alternative that is as simple as photobucket yet hopefully actually works! :help:

I use photobucket and have done so for the last five years and never had any real problems with it.

I always resize and edit before i upload to it.

Indeed, you don't want to be letting PhotoBucket edit your photos in any way. Use your proper editing software for that, and only upload your final edits.

i didnt mean edit as in usual fiddling (dont do much of that yet as im still fiddling with getting usable images first lol) i just tend to use photobucket to rotate if needed and resize so i can post them on here, they usually exceed the size limit otherwise.
i'd still like to change to a different host as photobucket and my laptop dont seem to get on very well anyway, so what others do you lot use?

i shall try to download some software to resize/edit on pc

do you not have mircosoft windows picture manager? thats all I use, it has pre determined sizes to set etc.

Who the blippery edits their images online? I can't stand flickr, or anything to do with Yahoo - and that was before they removed my entire account, now I'm just plain peed off with them. I've used photobucket a few years ago and just recently went back to it - never had any major problems with it, and I plan to go pro sometime in the near future. Honestly, flickr is seriously overrated; it just seems the hip thing to have because most photography buffs do.

PS: your laptop 'not getting on' with photobucket is not their fault.

I use Pix.ie - link is in my signature. I like it - it gives you the option to post different sizes which saves pratting about before you upload.

I am a "bucket" fan and have used it for years without hassle.

Sort out your image sizes etc before you load up.

Depends who you are wanting / expecting to view your photos...

I have a website, Facebook Page, Redbubble and use Picasaweb, each has its benefits and limitations.

I've been using the "bucket" for a while now, mainly for stuff I post on forums and in blogger when I used that.

i use photobucket to post my pics onto forums such as this one. i am currently not editing any images (except rotate and crop) so usually use photobucket for this, and resizing my images, the majority of my images dont get posted here, and are not taken for photography sakes, a fair few are just "snaps" which are sometimes posted on other non-photography forums i frequent. most forums dont offer the option to upload from pc, and require a link from somewhere such as photobucket. as photobucket and my laptop dont get on (regardless of whether its my laptop or photobucket at fault) i just wanted somewhere else similar to use, i also like to upload pics to such places as it keeps an online copy of those images should i lose them from my comp for whatever reason. :)

thanks for the links, i shall check them out and hopefully one will be helpful

Online photo albums are not a reliable backup medium - invest in a portable hard drive

No it is not for sharpening, but great for re-sizing say some photos you have in a folder.
It will leave your originals alone in the same folder.:)

Yep you are best do any sharpening last.:)
