you need to put the complete url for the picture (which should end in .jpg) inside img brackets like

If you look in the tutorials section theres a how to - linky

open the picture you want to upload, right click choose 'properties' the link is in there, copy and paste into upload box.

what came up 'photo too big'? I have mine set at medium on PB, but the forum software will re-size the image anyway.

interesting, it was the forum that said photo was too big, just been experimenting, and went from 640x480, to medium, and as you said i got url from properties, it copied ok but would not post in browse box, but did on comment box, ......dont laugh now i cant find it

Its probably too big in file size rather than pixel dimensions - how big is the file in kb ? (it should tell you in the properties)

AH right! When you save image in your photo software, push the slider down towards small, somewhere between medium and small I find OK for t'web.

hi bsm kb was 5134, what do i need to get it down to too post

yep thats the problem - you should be looking at about 512kb i think - do what wontolla said to resize ( I dont know much about photobucket - i resize mine in photoshop before i upload them to a host cos i dont want my high res files getting ripped off the tinterweb)

hi bsm is bytes the same as kb, as i keep taking down pixel size the byte size goes up :bang:

kb is kilobytes - ie 1000 bytes to a kb (actually 1024 but lets not quibble)

what ppi is the file ? ( thats pixels per inch - ie the density of pixels in the image) chances are that as you decrease pixel dimensions its increasing the ppi.

I dunno how to sort it out in photobucket - thats why I use a photo editing program where you can resize to a set ppi (for web display 72ppi is ample)

I use photoshop/photoshop elements but you could download a frebie like gimp or irfanview or if your computer came with paint you could use that.

failing that wontolla or someone can probably tell you how to do it on photobucket
