Hi all. Just wanted to introduce myself to the forums. I've been the occasional lurker just reading up information but this is my first post.

Until now, I've been a point and shoot camera user that rarely strayed away from the fully auto mode (current camera is a Panasonic Lumix TZ10). Anyway, decided to take the plunge and move to a digital SLR and get a bit more into my home photography.

I'll probably be asking lots of questions about equipment, cameras, lenses etc. In the mean time, I just wanted to say hello :)

Hello, I've only been here a little while and I warn you now it can be addictive!
I have the TZ10 and love it, how are you getting on with the DSLR?

Hi! I'm new-ish here too lol

What did you think of the Lumix mate?

The TZ10 is a great camera when you are outdoors or there is sufficient lighting. The zoom is awesome and the video capture is great too. However, it really falls down with indoor shots and low lighting. Also, if you do need to crop or blow up the photo then it doesn't look that great. The TZ10 was the first from Lumix superzoom range to have the GPS sensor, seemed a bit gimmicky but I actually really like it.

Haven't gotten the DSLR yet but thinking of getting a Canon EOS 550D.
