Photographic equipment insurance

Guys,
What’s the going rate for Photographic equipment insurance? My gear is now worth 15 grand and it’s about time I got it insured

How long is a piece of string?

It will vary depending on your specifics. Much in the same way car insurance does.

I was meaning for example 1000 quids worth of camera equipment costs 20 quid to insure or say 2%......... bla bla bla

I have 4K covered for £120 at Glover and Howe

They quote online, worth checking out

I've got over £11K covered with Photoguard for around £260, which includes travelling and locked car cover too. Never had a claim, but I've heard and read only good things from people who have claimed.

I'll be taking around £2000 of equipment with me to Mexico..is it worth insuring seperatly or just use you standard holiday insurance??

Lots of threads about this on here. Have a search and digest. It's a minefield. BUT make sure that you don't use E & L, if you have a car to carry your gear around in.

I was quoted £434 with Photoguard for 12k of equipment but only just over £240 for the same 12k of equipment with Aaduki...

£4.5K insured with Photoguard for £117 a year.

Glover & Howe quoted me over £800 to insure my kit (about £14k's) that was full international insurance (i live in Dubai) but I had to have a UK residence as well for it to be valid.

I added £5k of "all risks" home and away / abroad for my canon eq (amateur) for £41 extra on my home insurance.
