Photographing in Lightning?

Any rules for doing some shots in a lightning storm?

One going on around me just now, a big one...

Going to try and get a few shots.

tripod, long exposures, and dont get struck !

Decided against it, the storm is getting pretty violent right on top of me..

Never mind mate ,I'm sure there will be plenty of other opportunities.
I've often thought of trying to capture a lightning shot but I would imagine alot of luck would have to be on your side, right place, right time and all that. Mind you down here in Kent it's been pretty humid the past day or so and thundery showers are forecast so I might be lucky but yet again with my luck I miss the shot. :bang:

as long as you dont stand in the middle of the field when you take them you should be ok, lightning travels from the tallest point around you. besides takin it striking a building would look better.

I hope you have better luck than i have had in the past, i can never seem to catch it!
