Photographing models in the rain?

I have an assignment later on today with a model shoot and now it's started to team down. The model's happy getting some images in the rain, as am I, as they'll be different.

Any tips for this?

I know the usual no flash and clear bags taped up over the lens and body, anything else?

At a guess I'd NOT say

"I say, lets both take our clothes off so they don't get wet":D:D:D

because unless you're very good, your flash will illuminate the rain as small white streaks between you and the model...

why not use a flash?

See below. Although that's a fantastic shot!

Correct. Maybe a flash from the back, or side might be ok, but not on camera.

err....not if you shoot as per the picture ;)

Who said anything about using on camera flash? You shouldn't be using that anyway, unless you're taking mugshots for the police

I meant external flash on the camera. I have one of those V2S wireless triggers and it just mis-fires all of the time. Need to invest in something else to do some strobist work. It all used to work fine, then just gave up the ghost.

I know that's what you meant, that's what my comment refers to, not to using the camera's built-in flash.

Get yourself a ttl cable off ebay (about £12, delivered) and use that.

I read that - she's not in the rain - both her and photographer are under cover - a car port to be exact...

Well, preventions is good and all. But just in case something does go wrong, but sure to turn off everything ASAP and remove batteries.

clear placcy bag over the flashgun tbh I love playing in weird conditions, but then again I've been known to need my cam insurance because of it...........

just wait until its nice and sunny, extra pair of hands up a step ladder and a large watering can, result!:thumbs:
