I hope I am allowed to post this. If not, I really do apologise and please remove.

It is just a plea for help for a charity very close to my heart. Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep is a worldwide network of volunteer photographers who provide a fantastic service for those unfortunate enough to be experiencing the death of a child. More info on their website www.nilmdts.org

They are in the final round of voting for a charity to receive funds from a charity auction, and NILMDTS are in the final 3, but are a few votes off first place so they would massively appreciate your votes.

I first encountered this charity on a personal level but to me as a photographer it really touches my heart because to me this is what photography is all about. Capturing memories of moments that can never be re-lived.

Thank You!

I've voted for NILMDTS.

The few photos we have from the moments we had with our first son are treasured beyond belief.
I often find my mouse hovering over the volunteer button. One day I hope to be brave enough to click it.

Thanks Paul. I lost my first son too. I don't think I will ever be strong enough, I am a blubbering wreck here after watching the video on their website!! :'(

I really admire the photographers who do this. Such an amazing gift to give people.

I'm not wanting to upset anyone here, but I can't quite work out whether they advocate a family portrait using a dead baby, or if I'm totally missing the point?

Yes they take photos of babies that have passed away, or are going to pass away. My son was stillborn very late in pregnancy and the photos I took of him after he was born are all I have left of him. It might seem distasteful to some but all I can say is to these families it's not just a 'dead baby' it's the child they wanted and loved.

Sorry, maybe there should have been a warning in the title. I am sure the images could be upsetting if it was not something you were familiar with. Apologies.

Voted, they are 28 in front now.

Looks like you can vote more than once they are currently 4% behind
