Photography club - NE - South Tyneside area

I live in Jarrow and would like to know if anyone can recommend a friendly camera club not too far from where I live.

I've no personal experience of any but I found this list:

As soon as I get my Thursdays free, I'll be joining one, Sunderland Photographic Society. Might even catch you at one of the inter-club competitions they run

I know it's heresy to suggest South Shields to a Jarra lad... but South Shield PS always had a great rep.
