has any one used these for insurance i just did a quick quote and with a £1 million Public libility insurance £1,500 kit inc car theft cover was only £74.00 for a year or £6.97 a month

this covers me for uk only at the moment but i think it is cheap and this is also for ametuear / semi pro version

does this look legit to you

any body use them or even had to claim off them

Dunno about Photoguard but if you really want a decent policy with no fuss and excellent levels of cover give my mate Steve a ring on 01775 714424 .

He heads up the professional photography arm of Winsover Howden Insurance Brokers based in Spalding Lincs. Tell him Ryan sent you and you want one of his "special deals". Steve's a great bloke but don't mention football as you'll NEVER shut him up.

FWIW I have all my professional insurance with them and am very happy with the policy, cover and service.

I use them at the minute, never had any probs with them to date, never had to put a claim in yet, i used to be insured with E&L Insurance but then i heard alot of bad news about them and was recommened these.... I will be the 1st to give you a thumbs up for photoguard

I use Photogaurd. I made the decision based on recommendations on this forum

I use photoguard.

Not claimed myself but know others who have and its all good.

Photoguard is great I used to use them before my kit got too large for them to be competitive. They paid out nicely when I broke a lens - the good bit is that they don't have an excess (check out the review section)

I am now with Winsover Howden - not needed to claim but they were very good in allowing me to leave my Dye Sub printer in the car when I have events over consecutive days (no one else even considered it).

thanks everyone

ryan i will give your mate a ring tommorrow and get a quote

my only issue with photoguard is there terms for insurance but im persuming they all will be the same

When you say "terms for insurance" do you mean things like burglar alarms. Some insurers do seem to insist you have a burgalr alarm - linked up to your local cop-shop no less. Thankfully Winsover Howden have a more realistc approach and do NOT make such demands

I'm in the process of claiming through E&L Insurance :(

I was with them last year, but this year Aaduki offered a better deal and seemed to be less of a call centre in that you got to speak to the same person everytime.

Hi all,

Just spoke to Steve at Winsover Howden. He said if anyone does call the number is 01775 714424. They are the only firm who allow direct debits interest free apparently!
