Anyone on here a photo journalist and can describe the type of work you do and also best ways to get into it as a freelance photojournalist?

For some good information check out the Kenneth Kobre Photojournalism book, its aimed for American audiences but is a very good read nonetheless.

Maybe buy a few of the "University" text books on the subject?
Would get you some information on the topic you want to start, and you could self-teach it?

differcult now as there are so many photographers

dom

But entirely possible so don't think negatively about your chances of getting work.

People kept telling me there was no way into sports photography because so many people wanted to do it, but a bit of perseverance and doors started to open.

Quality of work and reliability are the skills that picture agencies covet most but a big dose of confidence in yourself is the most valuable thing you can have hen starting out.

Good luck :)

just got the freelance photographers handbook for xmas. basically a contact book for all types of mags, newspapers etc. also gives you an idea of what they are looking for and an idea of what chance you have to get work

really good if you dont mind browsing through a few different sections
