i'm just about to get a copy of photoshop elements(prob latest version 9) and would like to also get a book to help me use it
i'm a relative beginner with image editing software, i've messes around with gimp only
i've previously used adobe elements for video editing and got pretty efficient with this
any suggestion please
 
I would suggest this book:
Photoshop Elements 9 The Missing Manual by Barbara Brundage (O Reilly 2010)

You will find all you want in this book (and even more).
