Photoshop is too expensive/complicated!!!

That's a good find! I'd heard of most of the apps listed, even used one or two, but it just goes to show there's loads of free/affordable editing software out there...
 
youre not kidding either, i still use Elements 2 and it does everything i need or want it to do, if i ever come accross something i need and it wont do it i look for a free plugin
 
Don't discount Google's Picassa - it's quick, simple and easy. If you're cropping, tweaking colours, converting to b&w or sepia and uploading it's a winner for speed and ease of use.
