I already have psd template set up, so I'd like to be able to use that.Affinity publisher is free to use and ideal for designing book covers
Was just about to edit my post. I downloaded Affinity, but it offered my purchase or free trial. When I chose free trial, it told me I have 0 days left!It might be possible to use or import PSD files
Thanks, Paul. Was replying to Ben while you posted
This will depend on how complex it is, but strong compatibility with Adobe has been one attraction of Affinity.I already have psd template set up, so I'd like to be able to use that.
Where did you download it from? There is no free trial anymore. Was just about to edit my post. I downloaded Affinity, but it offered my purchase or free trial. When I chose free trial, it told me I have 0 days left!

Thanks, Graham. I'm a little confused as my free trial now shows as "Over". I can find a £16.99 versionThis will depend on how complex it is, but strong compatibility with Adobe has been one attraction of Affinity.
It's certainly worth giving it a go, given it's free, and with the Canva takeover, has realised its ambitions to become an all in one graphic suite.
Although Serif released them as three different programs: Photo, Publisher, and Designer, they made it clear from the beginning that the aim was for a single integrated program, which has now happened with the Canva takeover.
Canva push you to subscribe to the full Canva suite of "Canva" graphics, tools (more tools, more AI and collaboration tools). But, all the original plus more, of the Affinity tools are available for free from Canva.
But, you still need to sign up for a Canva account to get them.
Hopefully you have now seen my second postThanks, Graham. I'm a little confused as my free trial now shows as "Over". I can find a £16.99 version

You certainly don't want to pay for the obsolete version.

I did look at that, but I wanted to avoid any subscription ot licensing. Anyway, Affinity seems to be the solution for me.There is always the Photoshop Elements? The 2026 version is available for around £50-60 for a 3 year license.
