Went to Mark Cleghorn's "Monkey Business" Seminar today and came away with some cracking stuff. Some business ideas I'll be working on and a preview of some of the goodies in CS5. Content aware fill is AWESOME!!

I've also just renewed my subscription to Phototraining4U.

If you have not yet had a look, it's a great site. Yes you need to pay but you can pay an annual fee of £199 for the first year and £99 for the second. But you also get £100 to spend at Loxley's in the first year and I think there may be another smaller amount in year two.

You can also join using a monthly payment.

For that you have access to over £300 short training films (about 20 mins each) Subjects include studio lighting, speedlights, posing, business ideas, shooting skills.....There is also a freeview section with films that Mark did for Lastolite.

Not everyone can get along to a local college to undertake regular classes and this allows you do pick up what you want, when you want. OK, you don't get a qualification from it but there is loads of great content. Not much for the landscape shooter but there is some new stuff from Andy Rouse on wildlife. (Not a huge amount of content for you guys though) If you shoot people then it's a great way to learn.

Going tomorrow, sounds like it might be worth it then. I assume there is no point in taking a camera.

There was an opportunity to shoot a few pics at lunch. I didn't take mine because I wanted to see the trade stands :)

And I didn't even buy anything.....yet ;)

Personally, I signed up for this service last year and although the loxley voucher was great, I find that I just don't have time to watch the videos on Mark's site. I had the same when I signed up to lynda.com and kelbytraining.com, great sites but you need to know you'll invest time in watching the online videos otherwise.....well, it's common sense really.

;)

I have recently signed up to Phototraining4u and have to say that I'm finding it incredibly useful, I am already noticing improvements in my portrait and wedding work as a result.

I'd thoroughly recommend it!

The Vids Are very informative....but I end up counting how many times he says "actually":D

Theres a ton of free vids on the net though, dealing with similar subjects and not that hard to find.

 He does say Actually quite a lot actually....DOH!:bonk:

I agree it's a great site, I was in 2 minds subscribing at first and parting with the money, but it's well worth it.

If anyone decides to subscribe to PT4U please use the link on my signiture. It won't cost you anymore and you will earn me a little discount when I re-subscribe ;-)

If you note Nigel, I didn't use that one but posted the .com one.

I'm not that cheap

I went on the seminar the first day in Cardiff, some great ideas on maximising your profits and business ideas...

I am now in my Second year of Phototraining4u and i would not have learnt anywhere near as much info as if i hadn`t watched these films...

The films are more portrait and wedding orientated but that is Mark`s speciality...
