Since Picasa changed to Picasa 3 I've been having problems. Now I cannot import pictures to Picasa from my camera at all.I believe others are having similar problems. Is there a program similar to Picasa (for simpletons like me)
that I could change to? I would be glad to hear your comments and hope I can understand them! Thanks.

I had to change some settings in tools --> folder manager to automatically update files imported from the camera. Set the root of the media folder to 'scan always' and add the folder to watched folders.

I'm also sick to death of Picasa 3.

The old version was faultless, worked a treat every time I used it.

Now, 1 in about 5 times I use it, it either has to compile all my images again, displays 3 shapes in a box instead of a thumbnail, displays a completly different thumbnail to the actual image. etc etc etc....

I've uninstalled it and installed it several times now. I cant find a similar program with which to replace it.

I too would be interested to know if there is a way around, or fix to this problem....

can you no longer get picasa 2?

I've had similar problems i n that, since upgrading to version 3, I get wierd error massages when starting it. I usually have to click on continue 4 or 5 times to get it to open. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling but to no avail.

I only really use it to create a gift CD so I'm looking for an alternative for that, then I can uninstall Picassa for good.

Has anyone tried Pictomio? It looks nice from the screenshots, it's free for non-commercial use, and claims to be compatible with Flickr and Picasa amongst others.
I might give it a whirl to see what it is like if no-one has tried it out.

I'm going to piddle you all off, I haven't had any problems with Picasa3 and it seems to run smoother for me. But saying that, I don't import photos from my camera directly to it. I copy them from my memory card reader to a folder.

I shall give it a go in the next couple of days (in other words when I take some more pictures) and let you know.

Marc, if you want, I bought Photodex Presenter thingy so I can do it for you

I sold it really well there didn't I?!!! I meant the Proshow Presenter

Taken to pm as I don't want to
