Hi guys,

picked up a 600D but am now looking for a decent lens for it. Mainly going to be using it for car shows and have been looking for a Canon 24-7mm 2.8, anything else to look at?

Also what is a decent wireless remote that would work with the camera?

Thanks

Hi

What lenses do you have / did you get with the 600D ?

what is your budget ?

Do you have any specific requirements of the lens - IS, constant appature ?

Have you thought about primes ?

I would personally go for the 17-55 over the 24-70 if you are looking for a standard zoom. It's not built as well as an L series, but is sharp and has IS which is nice to have sometimes :)

Hi,

I got the body only and probably going to get the 50mm 1.8II.

Would like something with IS.

Budget it roughly 800.

17-55mm would give you options for getting full-width shots of cars while still having enough focal length at 55mm to get more candid grab shots of detail, people etc ....

Thanks guys, will check that out seems abit cheaper too which is a bonus.

17-55 is the best for a Canon crop. Similar IQ to the 24-70L but more usable range ad MUCH cheaper. Only downside is that build quality is not up to true L standards, even if IQ is every bit as good.

I second the vote for the 17-55 f2.8. I had the choice between the two lenes and went with 17-55. Very sharp and fast. You loose a bit on the long end of the 17-55 but that is nothing because you gain it back on the wide side making it a perfect walk around lens. Another thing I came across was that there were many bad copies of the 24-70. Unlike the 15-55 the 24-70 is a sealed lens so it can handle moisture where the 17-55 can not.
