Do these have a warm tone?

Generally I choose black, even for a warm mono print, but it does depend on the picture too. Consider also natural wood (oak?) framing.

I didnt consider the effect that any tone would carry.

My preliminary idea was; a dark photo light frame, a light photo dark frame.

Are you not proposing to use a matt then, as that can help with choosing the frame colour?

Thanks Rob,

I had heard it called "a mount" previously.

That is a beautiful picture. The shape of the trunk makes it appear like a head and then like a human with outstretched arms.
