Yes
Did anyone catch this last week on Ch4?

It's not something I would normally have watched to be honest. The girlfriend has been watching America's next top model a lot, more for the odd insight into the photography going on than anything else, so we recorded this thinking there might be something of interest in it.

Well, we sat and watched it and found it very interesting and compelling viewing. Anyone looking to get into fashion photography ought to watch it, I couldn't believe some of the things photographers were getting up to, some of which was quite shocking and to be honest, disgraceful

Well worth watching, its always good to see things from another perspective.

No, I didn't post in the wrong thread. I wasn't referring to the Canon! ;)

You have really got me confused now

I am talking about a film, made by an upcoming model and her boyfriend, in the style of a video diary. It was on channel 4 the other night.

It's got nothing to do with a 40D or Canon whatsoever. It was on telly

Obviously nobody watched it :D

What I was referring to, in particular, was the way models are seen as a commodity rather than people, their treatment in the fashion world and the way photographers at the big fashion shows were taking pictures of them as they were getting changed backstage, despite being asked/told/begged not to.

I'm under no illusions that the top models don't have great jobs (and great pay packets) and this all comes as part of that job, but I still felt, if this was a true portrayal of what goes on, how wrong it is. I certainly don't feel sorry for these models, but it made me wonder about photographers conduct, especially as some of the girls being photographed in the nude, whilst changing, and under protest, were actually 16 and under.

The other point was, despite all this, how the film tackled various aspects of our perception of fashion models - drugs, eating disorders, age discrimination and so on. I'm glad I watched it in the end, and even if things were exaggerated or mis represented it was still an interesting insight into the world of fashion.

The devil is in the details! "4OD", not "40D".

Like iPlayer, but for channel 4. Hope this helps!

Channel 4 didn't make this film, it was made by those who were in it.

I didn't catch this other film, shame sounds interesting.
