Tongue holds the eels in the beak when open. Or so I was told when on a visit to the Hebrides.

how hard are they to capture in flight
i was on farnes last sunday and took all day to get anything near decent.
what i want to know is why they just sit there , for what seems like hours with the eels in there beaks, i cant imagine sitting with a pie in my mouth for ages and not scoffing it LOL..
