I am heading to Pitlochry for a few days and wondered if anyone could recommend places within an hours drive that might be hidden gems ??

Many thanks
Mike

Go North up the A9 take the B8019 and take the Road to the Isle-By Tummel and Loch Rannoch- you can drive as far as Rannoch Station ( make sure you are full of petrol) and take a look at Queens View.
Don't forget to visit the Edradour distillery in Pitlochry and Blair Castle is worth a visit and you might see the odd Red Squirrel in the grounds
Have a great time

The Hermitage at Dunkeld.
Loch Tay, stop at Kenmore for the best angle
The BlueBell woods at Kinclaven - wrong time of year though to enjoy these though.
Bit early for the shot of the pass of Killiecrankie but it's very close and just off the turn to the road to queens view.

You might even be able to reach Rannoch Moor and Glencoe in a little over an hour.

Have a look at the WalkHighlands site. They have walk all over Scotland from gentle to full mountain ascents. Even if you don't want to walk the info can be useful as every walk has a map, photos of the walk and some background information.

Link to the section about Perthshire - https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/perthshire/
