how many are guilty? I found myself doing this more and more. I have a 70-200Lf4 and a Sigma 24-70f2.8 because I couldn't stretch to the Canon L version. I am now obsessed that I need the Sigma replaced with the Canon as the Sigma is soft (although it could be me not nailing the focus lol) I had the chance to do some comparrisons between the Sigma and Canon 24-70and now I'm more confused?

I don't pixel peep at all anymore, except out of necessity. The only time I zoom to 100% is just to check that the image is actually sharp - I run at 800x600 on a CRT so it's sometimes a little hard to appreciate whether I actually nailed the focus when viewing the whole image...

It's not even funny how soft a lot of my kit lens shots were... but I didn't know better back then so it never bothered me.

stop worrying about it and go and take some photographs!

I've found a pattern the less I use my camera the more gear I want.

And the first reply in the thread said it all - probably assumed the L lens was used on both first shots....

Completely agree with this statement. It's exactly the same with paintball and paintball equipment.

Unless you are not nailing the shots you want with the kit you have then it's ok.
