Yes
Can anyone supply a decent (even a couple) of retailers that do equipment trade in? I'm not a browser of retailers, so really don't have a clue.....

TIA

I know that MPB and ApertureUK do. That's where my knowledge on the subject ends though!

MPB Photographic are pretty good. They even arrange courier collection as well.

As with all dealers, the trade in prices are well below market.

You may be better trying to sell through the classifieds on here first, you should get better prices for your equipment.

Cheers, guys, it's just a thought at the moment so will see what's on offer....... gives me a starting point.....

Is it just my tablet browser or does the Mifsuds website look like it was created by a 5-year old using Microsoft FrontPage sometime in 1993? :)

Camera World, not particularly generous but probably as good as anybody else.

I've used WEX. but be prepared to haggle, I've always gotten a better deal than their first offer. It's always a good idea to get quotes from 2 or 3 other retailers then use the best quote a starting point.

Harrisons

wex do, however why not try and sell it yourself on Facebook or another site. You will get far more for it

Ffordes are very fair, Derek. And you're nearer to them than most of us! (relatively speaking!)

Thanks all. I'll check about but would no doubt be better selling privately..... the lack of hassle of trade in does appeal though..... :)

Sometimes, if selling on Fleabay, by the time you've factored in their commission charges, Paypal charges, and the risk of something unforeseen going wrong (or rogue buyers), trade-in can be worth it.

WEX are fairly reasonable, I got £360 for a canon 24-105mm f4 L. If I sold it on fleabay I wouldn't have got much more and there fees are horrendous.

The problem with WEX is that they don't buy for cash, just vouchers.

I just sent off the bits I had as their prices were better than offers on here but only found out after they recieved, checked and agreed they were mint etc...

All in all a waste of their money and my time - hence my stuff is back with me now.

That's very true John, I was a bit cheesed off with them, I wanted a 24-70mm f2.8ii At bank holiday weekend currys had these with £140 off and even calumet offered £100 off, but WEX nothing!! They also don't do any price match. Don't get me wrong service is good but be careful with what you want to trade in.
