Hi all

I'm heading to Criccieth for my Summer hols with the family, luckily I should be able to get a day or two to do my own thing... so I'm looking for some suggestions on places to visit. Generally looking at landscape / astrophotography spots. I like my long exposures too.

Thanks in advance

There's a lot of superb places in reach of Criccieth. The Llyn (can't add the accent!) has some good beaches such as Porth Colmon, Porth Ysgo, Porth Neigwl; the tip of the peninsula at Uwchmynydd has sunset views to Ynys Enlli; a gem if you like archaeology is the hill fort with hut circles at Tre'r Ceire (this and Yr Eifl have superb views). Inland, you're not for from Nant Gwynant and Snowdon itself, and the woods around the A496 south of Blaenau Ffestiniog are good.

.Porthmadog harbour. Up the Cob photos of Porthmadog. Borth y guest beach. All within 10 mins of Criccieth.
Cwmpennant for the blue bells. Aberglasney gorge. Bethgelert. 7 miles from Porthmadog.

Head for the national park if possible

not forgetting portmerion
