Has anyone successfully done this before?

What are the best spots and best times to take the best pictures of planes?

Apart from a camera & a zoom lens, what else could be handy [don't say sandwiches, crisps etc please] to take along?

Is anyone interested who may be living close to heathrow for a tog photo session?

I came across this website and links such as this and this and this

Any suggestions, advise, dos and don't are welcome.

You'll probably be arrested as a terrorist suspect if you hang around the perimeter fence with a long 'pointy thing' aimed at the planes.....

I will take that risk m8:D Now for some constructive suggestions people :help:

Try this one....details of where to go and park along with some representative shots to give you an idea of what to expect. Don't forget that wind direction will determine which way they're landing though.

Myrtle Avenue is a popular spot for landings on 27L. Get off the tube at Hatton Cross and it's 5 minute walk. There's a field at the end of Myrtle Avenue.
This link should show it in Google Maps.

Spot on. Many thanks.

Redpaul you star! That's the first sat picture I've seen that shows the crashed BA 777. I was thinking it would be chopped up and disposed of before the sat pictures were next updated.
