Hi, I will be going to Cornwall soon (in and around Penzance)

Please let me know places of photographic importance.

Thanks in advance.

The 1st that springs to mind is St Michaels Mount in the bay at Penzance. Also you would not be far from St Ives, Godrevy point and Cape Cornwall. Also the tin mines on the north coast at Botallack and Geevor.

Thanks for chipping in. I was not aware of Godrevy & Geevor.

Thanks for the details, I will look them up on the internet

Some good advice already here but off the top of my head you could also look into Kynance Cove, Logans Rock and Porthcurno.
I live at the other end of the county so its still a 1 1/12 drive for me to get down that way but for me all that area is probably the most stunning part of Cornwall.
If you have the time park at Porthcurno and walk to Lands End (its about 4 miles) and you'll see tons of photography possibilities.

I'll add a few more:
Golitha Falls (on Bodmin moor)
Lizard point (just down the road from Kynance Cove listed above)
Mullion Cove (again near Kynance, could do all 3 together)
Mevagissey Harbour
Polperro
Bedruthan Steps
We are not short on photographic spots down here :)

EDIT: Forgot the one on my doorstep - Roche Rock

No, you're definitely not short of photographic spots:)! I visited Mevagissey and Polperro a few years ago - marvellous! It was my first trip to Cornwall. I would like to add Fowey to the list - Daphne du Maurier lived there for some years. Wonderfully photogenic and beautiful places!

I have to manage my family (2 young kids) and my photography. Planning to devote time in early morning and evening. But I would like to make use of this opportunity. Thanks for the suggestions I will keep this in mind.

I wish I could have a long holiday but I am going to try what best I can to make use of the opportunity.

Hi, just thought I would throw in a little stretch of coastline west of Penzance between St Buryan and Sennen. Ttiny little fishing hamlets of Penberth and Porthgwarra. You have the beautiful sandy beaches of Pedn Vounder and Porthcurno which has the Minack Theatre cut into the rock above it and from there you can work yourself around to Sennen and Land's End for your sunset shots. Beautiful area. I should know... I live here. Enjoy

Pete

If you have a smart phone get the tide table app. It's useful to know when low tide is as many harbours look a bit bedraggled at low tide

As above, Penzance, St Ives all the major names :) Its a lovely area of the country, id happily go down there again :)

Porthcurno was a lovely drive and a lovely walk aswell! There is a theatre there too :) Nice beach if you take the kids aswell
Porthgwarra is a lovely little village & cove, be warned its a single tracked road and if you meet a JCB coming the other way you may lose a wingmirror (Like I did -.-)

Lands end for the thrill of going to lands end, I would recommend a long lens for that though (And a hat its windy AF there)

Im told Lizard point and Kynance cove are good aswell, although they're a bit out of the way from where you are staying, could be worth a day trip with the famalam though :)

Have a great time

Kynance Cove and Lizard point definitely worth a visit if you have time. If you have a car take a couple of ££ for the rather expensive Kynance National Trust car park!
