The mrs brought me a used DSLR for Christmas a couple of years back, but I am starting to see limitations in the 6mp that the EOS300d offers.

I am considering either an EOS450d or an EOS1100d.

I like to shoot motorsports / aviation, so something that will allow me to crop images (hence wanting to increase the mp) is what I'm after.

Any thoughts people?
 
Should do - I got a nearly new 450D and 18-55 IS kit lens for my lad for £150.
I use Nikon myself but I actually quite like the 450D - its nice and light and I find myself "borrowing" it every now and then:)
 
Both cameras are retty decent, both of them also have benefits over the other, the 1100 has the 63 point metering and digic 4 along with what appears better iso performance where the 450d has a faster center focus point along with a few other better features.

Image quality wise I imagine they are pretty much identical
 
Only regret is that I did not buy it in a shop.... I have to wait what will seem like days for delivery. I understand it will be a big leap from my 300d?
