Playing around with long shutter and torch

Not sure what you were trying to achieve and I'm no expert but you seem to have got a fairly even illumination of the building. I guess you were using an LED torch?

god for you getting out and experimenting :)

Andwhynot (I think he's a member on here) is a specialist at night time / long exposure photography, take a look at his website - there might be a few hints and tips to pick up ;)

I can see what you were trying to do, however I think the problem here was the height of the building. The output from the torch did not have enough reach to light up the top of the tower.

Try picking a smaller building. From what I have seen, of these type of shots, they work best when you try to capture the stars in the sky surrounding the building at the same time.
