Please advise on this Tamron lens for my Nikon D50

Hi All

I would like a decent Macro lens for my Nikon D50, and have seen a 2nd hand Tamron SP 272E 90 mm F/2.8. I'd appreciate any advice about whether or not this is a good lens, or any other comments.

I havn't got one myself but a couple of friends use one and they are very pleased with the results. Also an excellent lens for portraits.
I think it is generally accepted to be one of Tamrons best lenses.
