Please help something's wrong - Canon 5d MKii

I got this from a member here last week and everything seemed to be fine. I was using it on Saturday and something has gone wrong.
I struggle to get focus at all and if I do then the image has a strange shadow on it - I am hoping I have just pressed the wrong button somewhere.
Please help

5D2 had an issue with the mirror coming unglued and dropping down, there was a recall on it to be done FOC by Canon, I'd speak to Canon at Elstree (0800 915 0009) and see if they can help.

check this by shooting without a lens and see if something is in front of the sensor when the mirror is up

I'd pop the lens off and enable manual sensor cleaning and have a peek inside (with the body in normal orientation)

Thanks for replies. I took lens off and when i took photo a white sticker fell out!! now though the shutter button has to be pressed twice to take photo - any ideas?

it sounds like you have mirror lockup enabled. the first press will lock the mirror and the second will take the shot, this is enabled / disabled in the menus.

Just as an aside it was the 5D classic that the mirrors fell off not the 5D2

Right, i have mine 5D classic mirror fell off for the second time, i decided i will not repair it again because locally they took about £200, but maybe that is because the mirror was broken so they replaced it with new, but that new also fell off and good it didn't break and i kept it in safe place for future repair.
