Please help with filters

After reading through several threads about filters trying to work out what to buy I'm still no further forward. I would like to create a silky effect in water and expose the sky properly when would normally be blown out. What exactly would you buy with a budget of £100?

You are probably after an ND filter for the silky water, which is essentially dark glass to give you a longer exposure.

To avoid blown out skies, you could use an ND grad or a circular polariser if you want deep blue skies.

take a look at cokin or hitech filters.these are slot in filters that fit into the holder,that fits to an adapter ring that screws onto the front of your lens.the beauty of this system is that you can get different sized rings to suit your different lens',and the holder will fit them all.for silky water,you need ND filters,and to balance the sky with the foreground,you need ND graduated filters.both these filters come in different strengths...1,2 and 3 stops.i would suggest getting a 2stop and 3 stop of each filter to start with,plus an adapter ring for each of the lens you intend to use your filters on,plus the filter holder.

consider going for the "P" size,which are about 85mm in size...
