Ok guys I need your colective help.

I have a canon ip4200 printer and i would like to print some pictures.
Now ever since i have had this printer when i print on photo paper i get a very green tinge which for printing photos makes the printer useless. Now i am guessing it is a colour profile problem but i can't seem to reslove it. No matter what setting i change it still comes out green.

Does any one have this printer? does anyone have any suggestions?
I really want to print photos.

Softwere is LR 2.4 btw.

Thanks

Errr...

What operating system are you running? Mac 10.4/5/6 or Windows XP/Vista etc?

XP?

Not my area of expertise -I'm going to have to bow out here.

However, if there's an option in the print process to allow the printer to colour match, make sure that is *not* checked - My Canon S900 had a very 'interesting' definition of colour....

I assume that the camera, monitor & printer are all set to the same profile, and the monitor is calibrated to some degree. Might be woth a check.

Is your monitor colour profiled? Have you tried sending the image off to somewhere like DSCL to get printed to make sure it isn't the image file?

This could be any number of problems. Main 2 are noted below.

Monitor - If you have no profiled your monitor, what you see may not be what is reproduced. Get yuour monitor calibrated - look at the Spyder 3 or one of the other calibration devices.

Printer Profiles - Ink and paper type change the way that images are viewed. You need a new profile for each paper type. Buy a paper from a manufacturer that will give you a free custom profile (permajet/Fotospeed are two). This matches paper, ink and printer to provide a constant output. You print out a standard image, send it away to them and they alter the profile so that the colours are correct and provide a consistent output.

Oh dear!
Well at least you know the issue. Can you not fix or replace the print head?
