Please Help with wireless remote not working!

Hey everyone,

Need help ASAP, I've got a shoot very soon with my home studio, just went to set it all up and the wireless trigger will only work/sync very intermittently, do these need charging? I've got a cable which seems to fit in the trigger but think I'm missing something?? please help.

I thought that but the only thing there is, is a screw at the back of the trigger as you can see in the pic above, should I undo this?

So I thought I'd be brave and removed 'the screw' haha and.....found a battery mn21/23 12v! So going to see if I have one laying around the house.

Would still like to know what the cable is for

Do you not have a receiver? This looks just like a trigger without the normal hotshoe capabilities so the cable probably goes from the trigger into a camera port (it looks strange though)

Just popped to maplins, got 2 batteries (1 as a back up ) and it works!! School boy error.
As for the cable, one end goes into the trigger but the other end isn't the right fitment to go into the camera?

I said it looked strange - the cable might not fit your camera either.

If you have any future probs, please specify as much info in your 1st post as that generally stops heaps of questions especially if you cannot respond quickly.

Glad it is working.

Just looking at the cable again...it could well be another cable to go from the receiver to the strobe - it all depends on what size the male pin is and these triggers were probably supplied with both types. But that is just a guess without seeing them in the flesh.

Yes it looks strange to me too, I looked up the model of the radio trigger system and I found one picture where it showed this strange cable, not sure what its for, maybe I've lost an attachment for it.

Its a mettle system, The model number is ART-8G.
