I'm trying to trigger a second camera using PLus II's and the standard cables which came with them.

When you press the test button the other unit responds but the camera doesn't trigger. Both set to "both", channels set properly, anyone got any idea why they won't work?

Canon 1D MkII and MkIII for info.

should there not be a cable from the 2nd PW to a N3 canon plug into the 2nd camera?

As Admirable says you must use an N3 cable if you are trying to trigger a camera. the supplied leads are usually micro-jack to PC synch which is fine for flash.

You planning putting a sneaky camera out on the track somewhere? At the mountain biking I see some triggering the camera at the same time as flash so they get two shots for the price of one - dead sneaky!

its just a cable with a N3 plug on one end and a mini jack on the other, then theres a pre triger cable with a box in the midle the keeps the shutter half pressed but zaps the battery. I have just sold my wizzards but still have the genuine cable, if you put a wanted add up I will reply to it as I dont need the cable.

Graba Malla's offer with both hands - very generous!
I have two of the cheap eBay leads; one for my 1Ds and one for my G10. Both work well but Malla is dead right they drain the battery (although it takes a lot to drain the the 1Ds battery in a single day!).

its not free but very cheap compared with a new one.
