Point and shoot under £100, or very close to it ?

My Mum wants to get a new camera - she is 82, so the simpler the better.
A zoom is about the only thing she wants, minimal shutter lag is what I want for her so any suggestions what to look at or are they all much the same these days ?

Why not take her into somewhere like Currys who have a large display to physically try out? I would suggest anything from Canon or Panasonic would fit the bill.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS16, Good little camera, easy to use and with a very good Shutter lag rating for the price.

Dave1 - Mum is 260 miles from me making it hard for me to go with her but I did suggest that she went in to have a feel, as it were...
