Point and shoot!!

Hello all,
Wondering if you can help me out.
((Although at present it's stolen ))
I don't like taking my 40D anywhere as it's my livelihood.....
My dear fella would like to buy me a compact camera for xmas for catching things out and about (plus we have a 3yr old!)
We have a budget of about 150 - 200 quid.
Please can any of you recommend a good one?
I am a canon lover as I'm sure you guess above but happy to switch if need be!

I'm trying to decide between this and the Panasonic Lumix TZ7 for my Mum at the moment

lumix is a brilliant camera, my uncles girlfriend had a tz5 and it was brilliant it lasted her about 3 years then she wanted to upgrade but because the tz7 was alot of money she gone for a sony but she still wants it. best build i think, its even got a mini sort of grip.
