Yes
im into my fishing and as i plan to do some fishy pics so i have bought myself a polarised filter today, hopefully it will allow me to cut the glare on the water to see deeper etc etc

is there any other situations that i would find it beneficial to use it, the only one i can think of is if i was photographing something shiny like my motor bike ( another one of my hobbies) or polished cars etc

anybody got any hints on using it

I use mine in all outdoor situations but then I'm only a beginner and may be doing it wrong!

The main function of a polariser is to reduce glare from non metalic surfaces. They are also useful for making white clouds look more vivid against a blue sky.

You can also stack two one on the other and use them as a variable ND filter, but this can go wrong.
