Poppy Fields?

Just doing a bit of forward planning......

Does anyone know of any poppy fields in the north west of england or north wales, as this is something i am wanting to get a shot of this summer?
 
The only place I found after a bit of a hunt last year was here - http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&s...6682,-1.547994&spn=0.002211,0.006866&t=h&z=18 - not really North West, but the best I could find after searching flickr and here. There is a thread somewhere on here with more maps etc, but the link above should take you to where I got these shots from:







Also noticed other fields around the area but this had the best access, no official footpath that I could make out, but visable tracks where others had been.

Thanks for your reply, yes they certainly take some hunting, all of the locations i've found via the web have been in the south of england of east anglia!

Now that they are out has anyone spotted any good poppy fields in the North West area?

Jimmy is that field of yours near Barnsley in full bloom again this year? It isn't local for me but may transpire to be the nearest.....

Lovely pictures and very well taken.
Can you tell me how you went about the full field picture, eg. where did you focus in the field and what lens did you use to take the picture with.

I'd like to know too as its v. local to me, there was a beautiful one about 3 miles from this one last year but nothing in it this year at all and I was pre-DSLR then so gutted now :( I Haven't seen any round here at all, there was a sunflower field last year too but again nothing there this year either.
 
There were some poppies in a field that could be seen from the A635 near the A1 the other day if anyone goes that way
 
I've found one near Dartford in Kent if anyone is interested.
 
I've just returned from a few days in Oxfordshire and there were a couple of fields next to the Banbury to Chipping Norton road, which I think is the A361. However, I was in the back of someone else's car and wasn't able to stop to take any photos! :(
 
I popped to the field I mentioned previously near Cheltenham - Seven Sisters. If you go up the bridle path then you get access to the poppies easily.

It really is a huge field of poppies:
