Portfolio website up and running

I like it, simple but effective. I would prefer the site title to have a little more going on than just plain typed text. I think the way the images display is very good, the slideshow / gallery is really slick!

Thanks for the feedback! What do you mean by the title, more going on? Maybe some kind of border around it?
Unfortunately I'm limited on what I can do because of the stupid site creator I'm using (mr site) load of crap and a right pain to navigate!

I just mean something more than plan text if it will allow, although what you have doesnt look out of place as it fits with the clean / simple look of the site. I use Weebly (free version), luckily it allows for an image file to be used in the site header do i can add a PNG version of my logo in.

Thanks I will have a look into that site as maybe an improvement on mr site.

Do you think I should have some kind of price list on there as I wouldn't mind seeing if any of them could sell?

Was just thinking another link on the left saying prices and within there just keeping it really simple with 3 different sizes a4, a3, & a2 prints and 3 prices respectively?

Can't hurt if you're looking to sell the images.

Surely you would want some form of watermark as they can be just right clicked and saved and used by some people.

Clean simple& too the point, while in Vietnam did you take any wartime photos?

What do you mean wartime? I went to the war museums and the Chu Chi tunnels but these aren't exactly photogenic places. Yes theres some tanks, planes etc outside but they're not really my kind of photograph. I went to learn more about the war and reflect on what it would of been like to be a photographer in that situation. I also went to the killing fields and prison in Cambodia but for me personally these aren't the kind of place to stand and take photos especially the Killing fields!

I've never been to Vietnam but heard there are planes, tanks ect in the towns also bullet holes in temples.
I just thought that would make good poignant photographs.

It's not everyone's cup of reward though.

Yeah theres planes and tanks in the museums in Hanoi and Saigon but its all setup for tourists and don't think its possible to get a decent shot as there will always be something in the background to ruin the photo. personally don't think its the kind of thing to photograph (maybe a tourist holiday shot). Plus its something they want to move on from, i would much rather be out wondering the streets in the hustle and bustle capturing life now as it passes me by :)

Nice and simple to navigate site, I like it. Nice to see you visited Mui Ne while there and it looks like the pic of the sunset was taken from Pogo bar which I help run.....

Thanks it was from the hotel I was staying at. Can't remember the name but remember the name of the one next door which was called Hai Yen.

Was thinking that but there tiny file size so they can't be blown up and print very big without them looking crap!

I was thinking more along the lines of being used on websites more than anything else etc etc etc.

Ah right good point, I'm just in the process of creating a watermark for them. don't have photoshop so going to give it a go with gimp.

Thinking of saying the following in the bottom left

© 2012 Simon Geary l All Rights Reserved l www.slgphoto.co.uk

you think that will be ok?
