Portrait help.

Hello all.
I have done a few portrait shot of single friends that have turned out ok.

I am going to do some shots of 2 or 3 people together, just friends for practice.

When i do a single pic i aim between the eyes for the focus point ( this could be wrong ) could you please help me with what technique works best with shooting 2 people or more, focus mode, metering mode , AF area mode, best aim point etc.

Oh and flash settings please indoors and outdoors, i only have a yn-465.

Prob a very basic question but it would help me a great deal thanks.

Paul, the reason you are not getting any replies is this is a very broad question and it doesn't have the only right answer.

You could ask "what aperture/shuter speed do I use to create a masterpiece" with the same outcome.
