Q....what size is it better to take a portrait pic small,medium,large....thanks.
 
It depends what you are going to use it for I guess.
I presume you mean on the camera settings? Unless you need the space always shoot at the largest and highest quality you can. Whats the point of having a camera that can capture a certain size image and then throwing half of it away instantly?

Thing is you can makes images smaller very easily on a PC without loosing much quality. You cant make them bigger very easily without expensive software.
So always use the biggest you can. If you need to make them smaller to put on a website or something, you can do easily.

This applies to all, not just portraits.
